Who we are

CAPs understands!
Our team includes representatives from every segment of today’s modern approach to managing this horrible disease starting with the voice of the patient; the person and the at-home family member or care-giver.

We have assembled some of the most talented professionals in their respective fields and through a patient centric approach; we leverage the experience, knowledge and support of real people with a passion to serve.

From our Executive Board to our volunteers, we take pride in understanding the auxiliary issues of the patient and we are committed to addressing some of these issues.

Our doctors, pharmacists, financial advisors, tax consultants, pharmaceutical executives, patients and at home care givers, collaborate to insure that we maximize current and future assets and resources to deliver tangible support to people living with cancer.

Executive Director

James Chambers serves as both Fitness Director and Executive Director. He is a former Certified Strength and Conditioning and USA Track & Field specialist. Besides spending more than 15 years training collegiate and professional athletes in peak performance enhancement, he himself is a former athlete, having been a free agent with the Kansas City Chiefs and Cleveland Browns.

A graduate of Northern Arizona University where he played football for current Chiefs coaches Andy Reid and Brad Childress, as well as Washington Redskins Offensive Line coach Bill Callahan, he was recognized by the NFL for achieving the 3rd highest Wonderlic intelligence test score in the nation.

Always a believer in helping those who may not be able to help themselves, he was chosen to be a Human Relations Commissioner for the city of Phoenix. During that time, he also was a two-time winner of the "Most Valuable President" award while serving as President elect of the NFLPA Retired Players - Phoenix Chapter.

More recently, he has been testing the effects of exercise intensity and frequency as they relate to the Type 2 diabetic athlete. He is also one of our Certified National Diabetes Prevention Lifestyle Coaches, part of our National Speakers Bureau, and is studying to become a Certified Cancer Exercise trainer.

As the founder and owner of MEANT Condition [Mental, Emotional Athletic, Nutritional, Training], he pulls back the curtain on how to transform seemingly insurmountable circumstances into “everyday achievements!”
